Woman Killed In Valencia Hit-And-Run Incident

VALENCIA - An unidentified woman was struck and killed Friday, Feb. 3 as she was walking along the curb on Orchard Village Road. The accident happened at 6 p.m. when the vehicle traveling southbound on the road, struck the woman and then fled the scene, according to a report from the Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Station.


Santa Clarita Valley deputies later apprehended the driver of the vehicle, which had significant front-end damage, stated Los Angeles Sheriff’s Sgt. Richard Cohen.


An investigation revealed that the driver, Jonathan Anker, 68-year-old, of Santa Clarita, did in fact strike the woman and fled the scene. Anker was transported to and booked at Santa Clarita Valley Station for Vehicular Manslaughter and is being held in lieu of $50,000 bail, according to Cohen.
