Owl Caught In Soccer Nets Rescued, To Be Released

A recent visitor to Del Sur Elementary School has
caused quite a stir. Last week, in the early morning hours, students discovered
a small owl tangled in the campus soccer nets. The owl - now fondly referred to
as Bella – was rescued from the nets by the school principal and other faculty
members.
“The students were anxious to save Bella and were very excited to see that we released her from the net with no serious injuries,” said Del Sur Principal Timothy Barker. “We look forward to hearing the good news when she makes a full recovery.”
Bella will soon be released to take flight. She is currently in the care of a local veterinary hospital where she is now gaining weight by allowing caretakers to feed her. According to hospital personnel, she has suffered a small cut above her right eye, but her wing is not broken.
When she recovers, Bella will be released near the school playground where her family owls are undoubtedly waiting for her.
